Temple Oil

A Version of Rick Simpson’s Phoenix Tears Hemp Oil

Last week, We at Buds and Roses Collective in Studio City, had an elderly woman come to us looking for Rick Simpson’s Hemp oil (also known as Phoenix Tears oil).  This lady, (we’ll call her) Christy, has suffered with cancer of her genitals and the cancer had been getting worse. She had done some research online and began looking for this special form of cannabis medicine.

Christy had seen a few videos online and was desperate to get or make some of this oil for herself.  She had seen Rick Simpson’s video called “Run from the Cure” and Shona Banda’s video “Live Free or Die” and David Triplett’s video “Cured: a Cannabis Story“.  And she thought this medicine may be able to help ease the severe pain she feels from the cancer and maybe reduce the tumor sizes and hopefully cure her from all the cancer.

To many who do not know about the science of cannabis, this may sound strange or pointless.  But to Christy it was serious.  She had tried to get a hold of Shona Branda by calling a place she used to work last year.  Shona’s former place of employment was outside of California and someone referred Christy to Harborside Health Center (HHC) in Oakland.

And by chance, the individual who delivers our Kannaroo Kitchen edibles was at HHC doing an hour of activism for a free gram.  Christy called and was asking about visiting HHC in Oakland, not realizing it was a 5 hour drive from her house in Koreatown, Los Angeles. The receptionist at HHC was thinking out loud, trying to come up with  a good place in LA to refer Christy and our delivery guy heard and suggested Buds and Roses Collective in Studio City.

Well, it was a matter of minutes before we at Buds and Roses Collective got a call from Christy.  She was asking a lot of questions but was not yet medical cannabis patient.  Our Member Services Representative helped Christy find a doctor near her that she could afford.  Once Christy got her doctor’s recommendation, later that day she came in to our shop.

Christy specifically asked for the Rick Simpson oil.  I told her we didn’t have any.  So Christy wanted to make her own.  We tried to explain to Christy that making her own Rick Simpson oil may be dangerous if she doesn’t have the proper place and equipment to do it.  She was convinced she could do it and wanted to get a pound of cannabis.

We asked Christy if she knew how much a pound of Cannabis cost.  She didn’t.  We explained to her that it can be expensive to get a pound of high-grade cannabis to make her own oil.

We had received a sample of a version of the Rick Simpson oil, so we gave it to Christy.  A few days later, Christy said the oil had worked well for her and she would like more.  So, we decided to bring in some of this oil for our members.

These oils are sometimes called Temple Oil and uses the Rick Simpson method but is not affiliated with Rick Simpson himself.  And we’re not claiming it cures cancer but we do want to make it available to our members who want it to see if it could help their condition.  The oil is dark, thick and sticky. The oil is meant to be taken orally or applied to the effected area. The amount of a grain of rice is enough to start off with, if taking orally.

We are told from patients – approx. 40-50 doses. For aggressive treatment, the goal is to consume 1 gram per day.

It is Hemp seed oil from Hemp Seeds made for cooking, in recipes and ingestion. It is not cannabis. It has no THC, CBD, CBN…. Hemp oil and hemp seeds are a very healthy option to vegetable oils and other seeds.
